Our Partners, Eugen Sarbu and Mihai Ionescu-Balea, took part in the 2025 Asia-Pacific Conference in Singapore. They attended as members of the ABA International Law Section. The event was called “Connecting the Asia-Pacific and the World: Emerging Legal Challenges and Opportunities.”

Insights from Day 1
The first day began with a speech by Lucien Wong SC, the Attorney General of Singapore. He spoke about ethics and the use of AI in dispute resolution. The opening plenary session sparked thoughtful discussions on how AI tools could reshape the legal landscape. Afterward, our lawyers joined sessions on AI, Dispute Resolution, International Arbitration, Commercial Transactions, and M&A. Each session provided valuable insights and practical takeaways that could be applied to our daily practice.
Moreover, the day ended with a fun reception at the Singapore Supreme Court. This was a good chance for networking and talking about new legal trends. The majestic setting of the Supreme Court added a special touch to the event, allowing attendees to connect in an inspiring environment.
Engagement on Day 2
On the second day, our lawyers had even more chances to connect with others from Europe, the Americas, and Asia. They joined talks on topics like arbitral awards, the Singapore Convention on Mediation, and cross-border insolvency and restructuring. These discussions helped our lawyers gain fresh perspectives on international regulations and practical approaches to complex legal issues.
